Successfully implement your unit
Questioning is used throughout the unit to help students develop their higher-order thinking skills and process content. Students assess their individual project in language arts using the brochure scoring guide. The completed group proposal with all its necessary components from all the subject areas is assessed using the slideshow scoring guide and team check sheet. Students assess themselves and each other on the group process using the team management rubric.

Module 6
Giving student a template for their learning helps them stay on task and guides them to stay organized. Having several different types of self assessments throughout a project helps keep students focused on the topic and lets the students feel confident that they are on the right track with their work.
Module 5: Assessing Student Projects
As we move through this project is see more and more how assessing as you go along is very useful and important. I notice that we have been assessing along the way through this course. I am getting many ideas of ways to use formal and informal assessments through a unit.

Module 4 Reflection
Consider how the work in this module added to your perspective on the Essential Question:
How can technology be used most effectively
to support and assess student learning?
Technology can be used to support and assess students learning by giving students a way to openly journal about a topic. Like in a blog. Blogging is an excellent way for students to reflect on a learned topic. Teachers can also assess the students learning and check for understanding by reading and responding to the blogs.

Module 2
This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQs, or formative assessment in the following ways . . .
When the teacher has curriculum framing questions it helps guide students in the direction that the teacher wants them to go with that lesson. It also helps the teacher to stay focused and organized on the specific topic of the lesson.
There are many different ways to assess students. Informal assessments can be very useful and do not put as much pressure on students as a "test" would, but the students are still learning and successful.

I believe by making the brochure and handing it out to students and parents is a great communication tool. Project based learning is important for students. It gives students a chance to explorer and discover on their own with guidance.
Anytime a student is assigned a project it is very helpful for the student & parents to know what the teachers expectations are from start to finish with the project. This helps set the students up for success with their project.
